I wanted something catchy and memorable, just like MC Hammer's song!
Also personally, I'm quite a light-hearteded person, so I wanted a slogan that would reflect this. 'Hannah Banana' has kind of been done, and everyone knows MC Hammer - or the song at least.
The elections are about being individual, standing out and engaging others and that was another one of my aims. Although the poster picture may look more Glee than Hammer, I did actually take the jumping concept from MC Hammer's EP art work.

I originally was going to try and copy the whole cover, but decided it was a look better suited to a 90s EP rather than a campaign poster that needed to be clear and catchy. Plus, like I said before: the elections are about showing off your own creativity and individuality, so I didn't want to completely take over the concept.
Next thing was to create and register a hashtag.
I had researched #hannahtime on Twitter already in the hope I was being completely original but, no such luck. If you type #hannahtime into the search bar it will come up with mostly a list of hockey players. Back to the drawing board. Hashtags on principal have to be short and memorable, so unfortunately #engagehannahtime, #engagementhannahtime or #hannahtimeengagement would never have worked. So #vphannahtime it was! And when I searched for it on Twitter: there were no results! So this way when you use the hashtag, you'll know you're engaging with me and only me, so I'll be able to answer your questions and tweets quicker.
Then, finally: the video! I couldn't have an MC Hammer theme without the MC Hammer song! So, without further ado: U Can't Touch This (Hannah Time). I hope you enjoy and please don't forget to like, share, retweet and of course vote!
